Extra Halloween police patrols in Shrewsbury
Monday 24th October 2011, 5:59AM BST.
Police will lay on Halloween patrols in Shrewsbury to cope with any complaints about anti-social behaviour.
The move is a precautionary measure to ensure people celebrating on October 31 do not overstep the mark.
Sergeant Darren Smith, from the town’s local policing unit, said their main concern was to make sure the elderly were not targeted by strangers and that older youths did not start randomly knocking on doors.
Shops have also been handed posters warning eggs and flour will not be sold to anyone under 18 years old during Halloween and Bonfire Night.
