A woman believed to be in her 50s has died and a man in his 30s was injured in a house fire in Telford.
The woman, named locally as Barbara Owusu, suffered serious injuries after flames and smoke swept through a terraced home in Donnington.
She was given emergency aid by ambulance crews at the scene but was confirmed dead shortly after arriving at Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital yesterday.
Neighbours said the man in his 30s was trying to save the woman when he was injured. He was treated for minor burns at the scene .
This afternoon residents living on The Glebelands claimed the woman was bed-ridden and suffering with cancer.
