Burglary at Loppington Post Office
Thursday 20th October 2011, 11:47AM BST.
A rural post office remained closed today after burglars smashed their way in and fled with cash in an early morning raid.
The thieves forced their way into Loppington Post Office, near Wem, at 5.15am yesterday and ransacked the premises.
But the burglars fled when the owner of the post office disturbed them after hearing a noise.
One of the burglars ran out of the store with cash, while another man stood guard outside the premises.
