St Georges attack victim ‘stable’ in hospital
Tuesday 18th October 2011, 6:30PM BST.
A 51-year-old man who suffered serious head and facial injuries after being attacked in a Telford street by a gang of eight men and women is stable in hospital.
Officers investigating the attack say they now believe the victim’s female friend had a disagreement with a blonde woman in the Spring Cottage pub leading up to the assault.
The victim was walking towards The Turf pub in St Georges on Sunday night with his friend when the gang approached.
After a short conversation, they attacked the man, punching him to the ground before repeatedly kicking him in the head. Police say the attack in Grove Street occurred between 9.30pm and 10.15pm.

Interesting. The Star invites comments on this bad news story about Telford, but doesn’t allow any comment on the bad news story currently below it in the headlines: ‘Man attacked and Robbed in Shrewsbury’
