Man, 51, seriously hurt in Telford gang attack
Monday 17th October 2011, 2:28PM BST.
A 51-year-old man suffered serious head and facial injuries after being attacked in a Telford street by a gang of eight men and women.
The victim was walking towards The Turf pub in St Georges last night with a female friend when the gang approached.
After a short conversation, members of the gang attacked the man, punching him to the ground before repeatedly kicking him in the head.
Police say the attack in Grove Street occurred between 9.30pm and 10.15pm. The road remained cordoned off today.

since this report in your paper we have had numerous phone calls to find out what happened in the turf who it was that was hurt and who attacked him. we have also been asked if it was the landlord of the turf who was attacked. could you clarify that this incident did not take place in or around the turf and that the people who attacked this man did not come from the turf or been drinking in the turf. the only connection the turf and this incident have in common is the location which is grove street, st georges. thank you
