Letter: Am I the first to congratulate the council for cloaking the sad 1960s edifice atop Shrewsbury Market Hall? It’s the best it’s looked for years, and thank God someone in planning has removed their rose tinted glasses.

If, sadly, this is not the case, could the clock faces be painted yellow, with two french baguettes left at ten to two in place of the hands and with the rest of the brickwork painted sky blue with clouds.

We will then be confronted with smiley suns from all points. That should lift the gloom.

Personally I think it is St Chads that looks better, Dave.

Amusing to think of the controversy that St Chads caused being built in a fashion which is associated with Synagogues!

    What a stupid letter.

On a serious and positive note, we should applaud the efforts of those involved for rejuvenating the Market Hall (inside).

We can all do without the obtuse commments we see above.
