Future of Newtown consultation begins
Monday 17th October 2011, 11:59AM BST.
Consultation on the shape of Newtown over the next 15 years began today.
People are getting the chance to comment on the proposals, which could see Broad Street pedestrianised.
Architect Doug Hughes is staging the week-long event at the former air ambulance shop until Saturday from 10am and 3.30pm each day.
The proposal to pedestrianise the town’s main shopping street is one of a number of ideas that have been put forward by the I Love Newtown lobbying group to help attract investors to the town.
The ideas could be fed into Powys County Council’s Local Development Plan on future plans until 2026.
