Demolition work has started at Osbaston House – the Shropshire mansion where businessman Christopher Foster murdered his wife and teenage daughter.
Heavy earthmoving machines were on the site of the former home of Christopher and Jill Foster and their 15-year-old daughter Kirstie near Maesbrook, Oswestry, over the weekend, clearing away rubble.
In August 2008, 50-year-old Foster killed Jill and Kirstie in their home then set fire to the house and outbuildings. He died in the blaze.
The murders shocked the country. The family had attended a friend’s barbecue that weekend and there had been no hint that anything was wrong.
It later emerged that Foster had faced huge debts and the HSBC took over the remains of the house and land.
