Church Stretton rail changes criticised
Monday 17th October 2011, 2:19PM BST.
Rail users in Church Stretton have criticised plans to remove hourly services from the town, according to a survey carried out by enthusiasts.
Passengers have also hit out at the decision to abandon stopping at all stations in south Shropshire as part of timetable restructuring carried out by Arriva Trains Wales earlier this year.
Problems have also been raised about overcrowding on trains during the morning and evening rush hour and commuters have claimed they now have to leave home an hour earlier or risk being late for work.
The views have been made in a survey by members of Church Stretton and District Rail Users Association monitoring trains using the town’s railway station.

This is Arriva Trains trying to shoot themselves in the foot. If the train is not going to be within a reasonable time – and every two hours is not reasonable, then the paying customers will go by other means – meaning less customers for Arriva Trains.
