Agreement over orthopaedic hospital changes

Bosses at Shropshire’s orthopaedic hospital say they have reached agreement with staff on a shake-up of therapy services.
They say the changes, which were agreed after months of negotiations, will ‘impact’ on some staff at the Gobowen-based hospital but will also maintain patient care.
But the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, which has been involved in the talks, said today it still had ‘serious concerns’ about down-banding of staff.
Hospital chiefs have been consulting staff since August regarding changes to team structures within therapy services and have denied they were looking at downgrading staff.
