Vow investment in Sutton Hill will continue
Saturday 15th October 2011, 11:30AM BST.
Officials have vowed to continue investing in a deprived area of Telford following the unveiling of a £7 million regeneration project.
A new community store and a fast food restaurant, as well as four flats, and improved road links have been created at the local centre in Sutton Hill.
Speaking at the official unveiling yesterday, Councillor Kuldip Sahota, leader of Telford & Wrekin Council, said: “This is part of the ongoing regeneration.
“The new shops are completed and the demolition of the old shops will take place in December. The borough has been working with the housing agency and other partners to continuing the regeneration project in Sutton Hill.
“It’s not a one-year project we want it to be an ongoing thing for years. This area needs regenerating and hopefully we will carry on with that.”
