Telford policeman jokes with ‘the boss’
Thursday 13th October 2011, 7:33AM BST.
Telford policeman Sergeant Louis Hylton said he joked with the Queen as she honoured him with an MBE during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
Sergeant Hylton, who is based at Madeley Police Station, was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honour List for his work tackling anti-social behaviour and the significant difference he has made to the engagement between the police and the community during his 23 years of service.
After the ceremony where the Queen pinned on his medal, Sergeant Hylton said: “I joked with her that I had been working for her for quite a long time.
“She laughed and I said it was nice to finally meet the boss.”
