A gang of thieves have targeted the fruit machines at a Wellington pub by cutting off the lock and stealing about £1,000.

They struck the two fruit machines at the Station Hotel on Station Road and made off with the cash from under the noses of punters and staff.

Police in Wellington today released CCTV images of men they want to speak to in connection with the thefts, which took place on August 27.

Anyone with information should contact Constable John Hughes at Wellington Police Station on 0300 333 3000 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
