Oswestry Town Council will spend £50,000 on a ‘flagship’ public park after councillors admitted the current playground was ‘extremely disappointing’.

The cash for Cae Glas Park will come from Section 106 planning agreements and from the Every Child A Talker programme, which encourages learning through play.

Councillor Martin Bennett told Oswestry Town Council’s meeting last night ‘something had to be done’ about the current facilities.

A report to last night’s meeting revealed problems with vandalism and unruly behaviour in the park.
