Shrewsbury Buttermarket asking price slashed
Wednesday 12th October 2011, 7:00AM BST.
A former Shrewsbury nightclub which was put up for sale earlier this year has had its price slashed.
The Buttermarket, a huge nightclub based over three floors in Howard Street, was placed on the market for £385,000 in March.
Now, after no buyer was found, the price has been dropped to £325,000 with chartered surveyors Towler Shaw Roberts.
Currently, planning regulations dictate that the building must be used as a nightclub, although changes to those regulations are possible.

That’s very little but I assume you would have to spend a fortune on the building.

Some great times were had at the Buttermarket but I guess every dog has it’s day and the Buttermarket has had it’s.

I assume the Mean Fiddler and Carling Academy chains have been approached. They’ve probably calculated that due to the exceptionally high number of morons and X-Factor victims in this town who can’t see past dance music culture that the town doesn’t deserve a live music venue. Who could argue with them?

Butter Market could make a fantastic venue. But not just as a Night club.
We held a couple of ShrewsburyCAMRA Beerfests here after Music Hall closed but now needs lots of TLC and investment.
Cant see it happening.
Cheers.
