Labour expels former Telford councillor
Wednesday 12th October 2011, 7:00PM BST.
A former Telford councillor who was at the centre of an escort website scandal has been thrown out of the Labour Party for nominating two Tory candidates in last May’s local elections.
Bosses at the West Midlands Labour Party today confirmed Nicola Holmes, who resigned from Great Dawley Parish Council in August, has been expelled.
The former Malinslee councillor hit the headlines in July when racy pictures of her appeared on an escort website offering her services for £150-an-hour. She claimed someone else had put her photos and details on the site and denied ever working as an escort.
Today a spokesman for the West Midlands Labour Party confirmed the former councillor had been found to have backed two Conservatives who were standing against her party colleagues, Shaun Davies and Kuldip Singh Sahota, in the Telford & Wrekin Council elections.
