Private firm to take over Oswestry Christmas lights?
Monday 10th October 2011, 6:18PM BST.
Council bosses in Oswestry might turn to a private firm to ensure the town’s Christmas lights remain.
The town council says its own equipment is dated and there is now a problem of where to store it.
The authority is also now solely responsible for the attractions after it took over the management of the lights from Shropshire Council in April.
Councillors will be told on Wednesday that officers have met a Christmas lighting company to discuss the future.
