Bin service blunder as collections made free

Shropshire Council has failed to charge parish councils in the Oswestry area for a litter bin emptying service for more than two years.
Officers admitted a ‘partial loss of data’ during the switchover to a unitary authority has caused Shropshire Council to mistakenly provide the service for free since 2009.
Shropshire Council chiefs are now writing to parish councils in the former Oswestry Borough Council area asking for the money – although as a ‘gesture of goodwill’ are only asking for half the cash to be paid.
Members of Weston Rhyn Parish Council will hear about the litter bin emptying service’ issue at a meeting on Monday.

Pity they didnt forget to pay off the finance chief`s 155k.
Perhaps they could forget to pay councillors for two years then give them half.
That would save a few quid
