Friday 7th October 2011, 6:10PM BST.
The bill for major roadworks currently being carried out on the A49 in south Shropshire will be more than £1.25 million, it has been revealed.
Rush hour commuters have been affected by the work to repair drainage systems and resurface the road at various points between Leebotwood and Craven Arms.
No-one from the Highways Agency was available today to comment, but according to the agency’s website, the four drainage and resurfacing schemes on the A49 will cost £1.27m to carry out and will be finished by mid-November.
