A six-year-old Telford girl and her father died from carbon monoxide poisoning after a chip pan fire, an inquest today heard.

The hearing was told a battery from a smoke alarm had been removed.

The bodies of Kay-Leigh Cooke and her 33-year-old father, Andrew Lineton, were discovered at a house in Briarwood, Brookside, in Telford, in April.

During the inquest at Telford Magistratess Court, coroner Mr John Ellery recorded a verdict of accidental death.
