Man in hospital after stabbing at Prees

A 29-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed outside a home at Prees, near Whitchurch.
The incident happened in Aldersey Lane between 5.30am and 5.50am yesterday.
The man received stab wounds to his chest and lower abdomen. He was initially treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken by ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
He was later transferred by air ambulance to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, Stoke where he underwent surgery. His condition today was stable.
Detective Inspector Sarah Wagstaff said: “At this moment in time, we are still trying to establish exactly what happened and how he came by his injuries.”
