Night flights from RAF Shawbury spark UFO alert

A UFO scare was sparked on national radio – because officials at a Shropshire airbase were carrying out night exercises.
Listeners called BBC Radio Five about strange lights at 11pm yesterday. But one texted to say RAF Shawbury was carrying out night flights.
Mark Vickers, from the airbase, said: “It was nothing untoward.”
