Falcon stolen from perch at farm venue

A valuable bird of prey has been snatched from outside Telford’s Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom, bosses claimed today.

Will Dorrell, whose parents Edward and Carolyn own the Shropshire tourist attraction, said Pasha, an eight-year-old Lugger Falcon, had been perched outside the shop yesterday afternoon before staff noticed she had gone.

Mr Dorrell said Pasha was being trained to take part in falconry demonstrations at the site next year.

He said he was ‘extremely worried’ about the bird, thought to be worth about £500, as she was currently halfway through a course of antibiotics to cure an infected foot.

He said: “She was extremely weak because of the infection, and because she was tethered quite tightly it is almost impossible that she could have just flown off, or got very far if she did.”
