Another brilliant idea – currently everyone’s Sunday evening is being disrupted by a constant thump thump from the West Mid Shrowground.

im sure you can cope for one weekend in a year

Another member of Shrewsbury Town Resident’s Association no doubt who still believe we live in the 1920s. I live in Shrewsbury Town and I think its great more events are coming here. Let’s have more modern events and less of the 80s retro nights though please!

It isn’t just one weekend though, is it. The Folk Festival wasn’t long ago and nor was the Flower Show with its fireworks.
Wasn’t the Quarry nice on Saturday with no events going on, just families enjoying an autumn day in the park.
shame those families enjoying the park did nothing for shrewsbury tourism and brought no money or new people to the town

I have to agree last night we could here the ‘music’ going on way past 11 pm far too late for a Sunday night and we live way across the other side of town. Bit unconsiderate for those of us who have to get up early to go to WORK the next day.

I too had to get up for WORK this morning.
But one weekend in the year to bring people to shrewsbury im sure i shall manage

I could also hear the music but as it’s only one weekend a year and bringing money into the town then I see it is a good thing and i hope it continues.

Get some earplugs then.

We really are a bunch of moaners in this town arnt we? whatever the event, what ever time of year we have to moan about noise, noise, noise. So what? one night of the year, putting on a fantastic event. thats it!! I was playing at the event, and I had to get up to work with a stinking hangover. But it was worth it, well done SFFF, for a fantastic weekend. And dont let any of these moaners tell you otherwise.

Thoroughly enjoyed Saturday night with The Charlatans, Lisa Pin Up etc, etc. Great that Shrewsbury’s attracting lots of bands and acts at the moment.
There was a really good vibe all night and in the taxi queue at 1am, outside Vincents when we were all trying to get home.
Shame there are still some old whingers who have nothing better to do than moan- I also had to go to work.
Let’s hope next year’s event is bigger, better and THUDDIER!

STCRA at it again. The rest of Shrewsbury wants a town with a bit of life in it. This sort of thing doesn’t happen often, stop moaning and enjoy the music.

Do we really want to be a town that has to be quiet because someone, somewhere has work in the morning and needs to sleep? Stop being so selfish, shut your windows and get some earplugs if it’s that bad.

The trouble with people in this town is all they do is moan. If they don’t like something then they don’t think anyone else should. they are all self, self, self. there should be alot more going on in this town, it has fantastic facilities for many more things. There are somethings I don’t like, but there are many more people than me in this town, and besides not everything is aimed at attracting or entertaining ME! If some events aren’t your cup of tea, then shut up, and put up!!!

I remember the STRA arguing not too long ago about the concerts in the quarry being too loud and thet the West Mid Show ground would be a far more suitable venue. I am guessing that now this is no longer suitable in their eyes?
If STRA are insistant on turning the town centre into a retirement complex then the should do us the courtesy of rebuilding the town walls to keep us riff raff and our vulgar entertainment, (preferably sound proofing them) and allow the thousands of other people in this town to enjoy such brilliant events such as this without all the moaning in the background.
And 1 more point. How are all these precious independant shops they want us to support going to survive without bringing in more tourism into the town with such events?
NIMBY’S

I could hear it over at Harlescott. Sounded great!!
If they do another festival next year, might go along myself.
Good to see things like this happening in Shrewsbury (or in my case – hear them)!!

I couldn’t hear it from my house, gutted! Stop moaning STCRA and give Shrewsbury a break.
