Funeral date set for M54 crash lorry driver
Saturday 17th September 2011, 12:37PM BST.
The funeral date has been set for a Cannock lorry driver who died when he was crushed between his vehicle and a van on the M54 in Shropshire.
The service for Chris Tolley, 52, of Trinity Close, will be held at Stafford Crematorium, in Blackheath Lane, on Friday morning.
His son Steven Tolley, of Heath Hayes, said that the family hoped his friends would attend and also come along to a wake being held afterwards at the Five Ways pub in Hednesford Road, Heath Hayes.
Mr Tolley was working for R&J Aggregates, of Brocton.
A tyre on his lorry had blown and he had stopped on the hard shoulder of the motorway on Monday morning.
When a tyre repair van arrived he was standing at the rear of the lorry when a second lorry hit the van and it was pushed against the lorry trapping Mr Tolley.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
