Wem woman wakes to find burglars in her home

A woman in her 80s from Wem was left ‘badly shaken’ after confronting burglars in her home.

Police are hunting two men following the incident in Trentham Road. It is unclear at this stage whe-ther anything was taken.

The woman, who has not been named, was asleep in the living room when she woke to see two men in the house between 9.05pm and 9.40pm on Monday.

disgusting hope this lady gets over it , they may well meet a home owner who will point out to them the error of their ways via a good kicking.

Yes but it must be “reasonable” and not contravene thier human rights, then there is the compensation plus the cost to us via the NHS for treatment for those injuries caused by reasonable force, I would love to serve on a jury for one of these cases Natural & common sense justice would send the right message to the mindless politically correct and the thugs. Thier punishment should be serving the elderley for 20 years.

I live in Wem and this seriously saddens me. I honestly thought that aside from the Friday and Saturday night pointless fighting, Wem couldn’t get any lower and then this happens. Wem’s never been perfect but I’ve always felt safe in my own home and able to walk around without the fear of attack that you would face in a city. The people involved deserve to be brought to justice and publicly humiliated for this disgusting act. Not four months ago an elderley man was attacked in Loppington for a car… its past crazy, possibly Wem’s councillors should spend less time on £100k squares which serves no purpose and more on the things that really matter like additionally on street policing to downsize Wems small town big attitude mentality.
