Fireworks start Ellesmere Boat Rally
Saturday 10th September 2011, 11:29AM BST.
More than 500 people lined canal towpaths to watch a spectacular firework display at the start of Ellesmere Boat Rally.
Crowds of people turned out last night to support the event, which continues today and tomorrow.
Revellers turned out last night for a concert featuring a performance by Wem Jubilee Band.
Market stalls were being run today and were due to be followed by a hog roast and entertainment from 6pm.
A dog show and awards ceremony will be held tomorrow.
