Help For Heroes will get most of its money after Buildwas theft
Thursday 8th September 2011, 6:09PM BST.
A man who had cheques totalling £8,000 for Help for Heroes stolen from his home in Buildwas today said the charity for wounded servicemen would still get most of the money.
Donations pledged to the charity were stolen from the Buildwas home of Rob Wilcox and his partner Nicky Corbett on Tuesday.
But Mr Wilcox today said he had managed to contact most of the people who had written the cheques.
He said they had been cancelled and new ones written to the tune of £7,000.
The 49-year-old said: “We are hoping in the next 10 days we can get the money sent off.”
