RAF trainee in court over Cosford bomb hoax

A 21-year-old RAF trainee appeared in court this afternoon accused of planting a hoax bomb outside his air base in Cosford.

The RAF Cosford base had to be shut and the area evacuated in July.

Christopher Emsley, a trainee, is accused of planting the fake device in Long Lane.

Telford magistrates bailed Emsley to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court next month for trial and imposed a curfew.
