Firefighters spent more than seven hours battling a blaze which broke out in a barn on a Shropshire farm today.
The incident happened in Coton, near Whitchurch, at about 1.20am and involved about 100 tonnes of straw.
At its height, the fire was tackled by about 25 firefighters who used jets to douse the flames.
Neil Griffiths, station manager, said the firefighters remained at the scene for some time dampening down after the fire was brought under control.
He said: “The fire involved approximately 100 tonnes of straw, but it has been confined to just one end of the barn.”
