Newtown ‘Prowler’ strikes again

A thief – dubbed The Prowler by police – has struck again in Newtown, officers said today.

The thief has struck more than a dozen times, stealing items such as purses, wallets and CDs from cars in the early hours.

The latest incident happened on Saturday when a white Peugeot 307, which was parked outside Severnside Cottages, Canal Road, was broken into in the early hours.

The thief stole a green Quicksilver bag and a Jack Daniels tin containing loose change.
