Love Oswestry festival organisers plan a year’s break

An event which attracted hundreds of people to a Shropshire town last summer to celebrate it and boost community spirit will not go ahead this year.

Organisers said the Love Oswestry event would not take place again until next year because they wanted to ensure it was as big and successful as possible

It means residents and tourists will not see a repeat of last year’s festival, which was held in the town’s Cae Glas Park.

The afternoon festivities were organised by people from churches in the town including Oswestry Baptist Church, St Oswald’s and Albert Road Evangelical Church.

Hundreds of people turned out to take part in the festivities.

Love Oswestry was a pilot scheme but organisers have decided not to put it on again this year and instead take more time to organise a better one for next year.
