These are just some of the 3,000 computer gamers who have flocked to Telford International Centre for a major festival this weekend. Hundreds of fans of all ages have been packing into the main arena.

They are at the centre playing PC and Xbox games such as Call of Duty, League of Legends, Fifa 11 and Warcraft.

And there are also two other halls where gamers are busy honing their skills

It is part of the Insomnia 43 Gaming Festival – which has been dubbed the “Glastonbury of Gaming”.

The event started on Thursday and will run until Monday, with up to £50,000 in prize money up for grabs in a host of themed tournaments which are being held.

Staff at TIC have hailed the “fantastic” atmosphere at the event and are looking forward to welcoming more gamers and visitors over the rest of the bank holiday weekend.

There are separate halls for competitions, exhibitions and displays, a turn up and play section and a dedicated “chill out” area.

And people of all ages from across Britain have been taking part.

A sp0keswoman for the  Telford International Centre said: “It has been great – there has been a fantastic atmosphere so far.

“Everyone is really enjoying themselves and we are looking forward to welcoming more people over the whole weekend,” she added.
