Arrests are made over Shrewsbury attack

Three people have been arrested in connection with a street robbery in Shrewsbury in which a 16-year-old boy was assaulted and his mobile phone stolen, police said today.

The boy was punched in the face and knocked to the ground while walking in Preston Street, near the Column, at about 10.45pm last Friday.

He was not seriously hurt.

Police investigating the incident yesterday arrested two men and a woman on suspicion of robbery.

They were bailed pending further inquiries.

The arrested men were aged 22 and 20 and the woman, 19.

The mobile phone was recovered.
