Helpers in bid to trace Mark Hodnett

The search for Mark Hodnett continues in Shrewsbury.
Friends and family of missing father-of-one Mark Hodnett gathered in Shrewsbury to search around the banks of the River Severn last night in a desperate attempt to help discover his whereabouts.

Search parties used a canoe during a search along the River Severn yesterday evening in a bid to find the 27-year-old, with volunteers also searching woodland close to the banks of the river.

Mr Hodnett was last seen in the early hours of Saturday morning after a night out at C:21 nightclub in Abbey Foregate with friends. He left the club at 12.55am and was spotted moments later walking towards the English Bridge, but has not been seen since.

Mr Hodnett failed to return home and his mobile phone and check shirt were found close to the River Severn in an area of the Quarry.

On Monday, nearly 60 friends and family searched the banks of the River Severn for clues to his disappearance and were out in force again yesterday evening. A group of about 25 people met at the Boathouse in Shrewsbury at 4pm, with a similar number taking over the search at 7pm.
