Inquiry on Welshpool sex attack continuing
Tuesday 16th August 2011, 1:38PM BST.
Investigations were today continuing into an alleged sex assault on a canal towpath in a Mid Wales town.
Police with sniffer dogs attended the scene of the alleged assault in Welshpool between Tesco and the Spar yesterday evening and a police cordon, in place since Sunday night, was removed this morning.
Sian George, Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman, said investigations were continuing and asked anybody with information to come forward.
She said: “Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating and conducting enquiries following an allegation of sexual assault in the area of the canal in Welshpool.”
