Two killed and one injured in road collision
Saturday 6th August 2011, 11:30AM BST.
Two people have died and another was injured following a collision involving a car and a van on the B4362 at Byton, Combe Moor, between Shobdon and Presteigne, Powys, near the Shropshire border.
The drivers of the two vehicles – a woman and a man – both died following the collision which happened just after 7pm yesterday.
The female driver of the car was confirmed dead at the scene, while the male driver of the van died later at hospital, police said today.
Inspector Jane Fitzpatrick, of West Mercia Police, said the road was closed until 4am today and the families of the two people who died were being informed.
She said anyone with information about the incident should call officers on 0300 3333000.
