Rare vehicle’s visit prompts information plea
Saturday 6th August 2011, 11:30AM BST.
A vintage vehicle enthusiast has called on the people of Shropshire for information about a rare vehicle – one of just 50 of its kind in the world – with links to the county.
The 1914 Arrow Johnson will appear at the County of Salop Steam Engine & Vintage Vehicle Rally at Onslow Park, near Shrewsbury, over the August bank holiday weekend.
But society archivist Michael Llewellyn is seeking more details on the car, believ- ed to have belonged to a Mr C W Roberts who lived at Ellesmere House in Julian Road, Ludlow, during the 1930s.
Mr Llewellyn said the vehicle was currently owned by an enthusiast in Scotland who would be bringing it to this year’s rally.
But he added he was eager to hear from people, especially those living in south Shropshire, who knew more about the car’s story.
