Zumba flash mob dancers hit Market Drayton
Thursday 4th August 2011, 11:29AM BST.
People in a Shropshire town were left scratching their heads as a group of fitness enthusiasts started dancing in the street without warning.
Fitness instructor Kim Littler, of Childs Ercall, organised a Zumba flash mob in Cheshire Street, Market Drayton, yesterday.
A flash mob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place and perform an unusual act for a brief time before leaving and going their separate ways.
About a dozen people, including several youngsters, took part in the routine which was watched by crowds of people in the town.
Kim said the event was filmed and organised as part of a global competition.
The video of the routine will be put on the internet at a later date and the most viewed one from around the world will win the competition.
She said: “It is part of a competition, but we are doing it more for fun than being competitive.
“I chose Market Drayton because I do a lot of classes in the area and thought with it being market day there will be lots of people about.
“It is a good routine which we have been working on.”
Kim has gained levels one to three NVQ in advanced personal training and has also completed training courses and qualified as an Exercise to Music and Zumba instructor.
She added people attended her classes aged from 16 to 75, including some men.

How iresponsible?? Its all fun and games until someone gets knocked over or even killed. Theres a time and place for bumba, and Market Drayton high street is NOT it.

I think we have a case of sour grapes here from my old mate Pete. Just because we havent worked together for 23 years he has become a kill joy and is ready to have a pop at anybody who is having more fun than he is.

Yawn….have you stopped moaning yet???

12 people – hardly a mob is it?
Can’t they dance indoors somewhere?
There will always be one!!!!!
Peter i would tell you to go and get a life but im afraid you would even moan about being given one….
Get back in your box and let other air breathers enjoy themselves.

Without warning?. Why would they give a warning?.

“Without warning?. Why would they give a warning?.”
So that the council Elf and Softy mob could stop them and insist of masses of pointless insurance cover.

Down with the Elf and Softy mob. They just don’t like people enjoying themselves.

Maybe it was to demonstrate that, in a society of increasing appetites and sedentary lifestyles, exercise can be fun!

I wonder if the EDL did an impromptu display of zumba next week in Telford whether they’d receive widespread adoration?
No because in Zumba no blood is spilt!
Although I find the EDL & similar groups despicable, when they are left to their own devices it seems there are no problems, it is when other equally despicable groups from the opposite end of the spectrum get involved there are problems.

Why have we got a picture of somebody taking a picture?
