M54 in Shropshire closed after multi-vehicle collision

Shropshire’s M54 was closed today following a multi-vehicle collision.

Emergency services said the incident happened on the eastbound carriageway at 4.20pm and involved a lorry and several cars.

Two children were released by firefighters and emergency services were continuing attempts to free others who remained trapped following the collision.

The eastbound carriageway of the motorway was closed at Junction Three for Albrighton following the collision, while the westbound carriageway was later shut as work continued at the scene.
