Telford councillor Nicola Holmes faces party expulsion
Wednesday 3rd August 2011, 11:30AM BST.
A Shropshire parish councillor who hit the headlines after racy pictures of her appeared on an escort website is set to be thrown out of the Labour party – for backing two Tory candidates in the last election.
Councillor Nicola Holmes, a member of Great Dawley Parish Council in Telford, was featured on an adult website which described her as a “busty brunette” and offered her services for £150 an hour.
She denied any involvement, branding the webpage “disgusting” and claiming someone else set it up out of malice.
Today the West Midlands branch of the Labour Party confirmed it had started expulsion proceedings against the councillor.
The proceedings are not connected to the escort claims but instead relate to her backing of two Conservatives who were standing against her parish council and party colleagues Shaun Davies and Kuldip Singh Sahota in the borough council elections.
