Arrests in Ludlow cannabis discovery

Tuesday 2nd August 2011, 11:29AM BST.

Two people have been arrested after detectives discovered more than two dozen cannabis plants growing in a greenhouse and shed at a Ludlow home.

A 30-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man were arrested at the house in Wheeler Road, Ludlow, on suspicion of cultivating cannabis late on Friday night.

Officers who searched the premises found the cannabis plants being grown in a greenhouse and shed in the garden.

About 25 plants were seized, together with equipment which police believe was being used to help with the production of cannabis.

The pair were taken into custody but have since been given bail while officers carry out further inquiries into what was going on at the house. The woman was also arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

Police have refused to say if the raid came as a result of a tip-off from members of the public.
