Tributes to Casey Breese after Caersws goalpost tragedy
Monday 1st August 2011, 11:32AM BST.
Hundreds of tributes have been paid to a 12-year-old boy who died after being hit by a falling goalpost as he played football in Powys.
Casey Breese, of Caersws, near Newtown, had been playing with friends in a recreation ground when he was fatally injured.
Police were today continuing their investigation into the “tragic accident” which happened at the village on Friday just before 3pm.
The youngster was airlifted to hospital where he died.
Dozens of floral tributes have been laid at Caersws’ recreation ground and a Manchester United top, laid by his parents, has also been left as a tribute to the Newtown High School pupil.
A Facebook page has also been set up in his memory with hundreds of tributes being paid from family members, youngsters and school friends.
