You shall go to the ball, girls – in style
Wednesday 20th July 2011, 3:18PM BST.
These three Shropshire girls caused heads to turn when they were given the fairytale treatment and taken to their school’s leaving party by horse and carriage.
Lois Barber, Aimee Kettle, and Ffion Jones, were surprised when the classic form of transport turned up to take them to Randlay Primary School, in Telford, last night. The friends were taken from Lois’s home to the school to enjoy the leavers’ disco at 7pm.
They said it was a “lovely surprise” and thanked their parents for organising it.
Lois, 11, said: “It’s really sad leaving Randlay, as I have really enjoyed being at this school. I will miss all of my teachers and my friends that are not going to the same secondary school that I am going to.
“It was a lovely surprise to find out my mum and dad and my friends’ parents had all organised a horse and carriage for us to come to our end-of-school disco in.”
Lois’s mother Jenni said: “Lois and her friends Aimee and Ffion have worked so hard at school over the years which has resulted in them achieving excellent end of year results. As parents we are very proud of our daughters, that we all wanted to do something special for them and decided to hire a horse and carriage for their end of school disco, to say ‘well done’.”
