Burglars raid Stoke Heath house and steal owner’s car
Friday 15th July 2011, 10:35AM BST.
Thieves ransacked a home near Market Drayton before making off with their valuable haul in the owner’s car, which the robbers stole from the drive of the property, police said today.
Besides the car, the culprits fled with jewellery, a television, a Nintendo Wii, an iPod docking station, Olympus camera, laptop, handbag, purse, an amount of cash, two bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne.
Officers have appealed for information and believe the thieves may have been spotted leaving the house in Stoke Heath.
They are also appealing for sightings of the silver Vauxhall Corsa, registration DY54UXO, which had been parked on the drive.
The break-in happened between 5.30pm on Wednesday and 6.30am yesterday at a house in Dutton Close, off Warrant Road.
Richard Ewels, West Mercia Police spokesman, said: “If anyone saw anything suspicious which might be related to this incident or has information concerning the whereabouts of the stolen Vauxhall Corsa, please contact Market Drayton police station on 03003 333000 or the Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111.”
