Man pulled from bike and assaulted in Oswestry

A 28-year-old man was pulled from his bike and assaulted in an attempted robbery in Oswestry.

The incident happened just before 7pm on Saturday when the victim and another cyclist were riding on the town’s Wilfred Owen Green, off Coney Green.

They cycled passed two people who gave chase and the 28-year-old was pulled to the ground.

Police say he was kicked and punched and an attempt made to steal his wallet before the two suspects made off. Witnesses should call 0300 333 3000.
