Heirloom stolen in Telford break-in
Tuesday 12th July 2011, 6:30PM BST.
Thousands of pounds of jewellery, including a Victorian bracelet handed down through the generations, has been stolen in a raid on a Telford home.
Some of the £20,000 worth of items stolen from Louise Warrington’s house in Coalport had been in the family for about 100 years, she said today.
Other pieces had been collected from memorable holidays from different parts of the world.
The break-in happened in Coalport Road between 2.45pm and 6.30pm on Thursday.
Intruders also took the keys before stealing a Range Rover Vogue, registration M111 WAR, from the drive.
Police said today the stolen jewellery was extremely distinctive and hoped that someone would come forward with information about its whereabouts.
Mrs Warrington, an office manager in Wolverhampton, said one of the items, a Victorian gold bangle with one central diamond and eight pearls alongside, had been given to the female members of her family on their 21st birthday and worn for their weddings.
She said: “I feel very sad to be honest. I have lost so many memories. I won’t be able to pass this bracelet onto my 14-year-old daughter.
“Everybody has been very supportive in the village.”
She added: “I appeal for anyone who saw anything or sees anyone trying to flog any of the items to come forward.”
Also stolen was a snake bracelet with ruby eyes which had also belonged to Mrs Warrington’s grandmother, a Chopard ring, a diamond tennis bracelet with 64 diamonds, an 18 carat gold three cluster diamond ring, a Gucci bracelet watch, a Gucci ring, a Breitling watch and a 14 carat gold tanzanite and diamond and black opal ring.
