Cyclist suffers head injuries after coming off bike in Shrewsbury

A cyclist in his 60s was left with serious head injuries after he came off his bike on a Shrewsbury street.

The man remained in intensive care in hospital this morning following the incident, which happened outside the bus depot in Ditherington Road just after 7pm yesterday.

Police today said it was thought the cyclist had been travelling towards the town centre and may have come off his bike after swerving to avoid a stationary car.

Witnesses are asked to call 0300 333 3000.
