Four in hospital after A438 car and lorry crash

Four people were taken to hospital today after a crash between a car and lorry on the A483 near the Shropshire/Welsh border.
Police and ambulances were called to the crash at about 5.30am and firefighters released three casualties trapped in the car.
The crash, on the junction to the village of Llandrinio closed the road for nearly three hours.
Ambulance spokesman Chris Hawker said four ambulances, an incident support officer and BASICs doctor went to the scene.
Mr Hawker said: “Ambulance crews treated four casualties from the car. The lorry driver escaped injury.
“A man in his 20s received abdominal and pelvic injur-ies and was treated by am-bulance crews and a doctor.
“A woman in her 20s suffered a leg injury. A second woman in her 20s sustained minor injuries and a man in his 50s received pelvic, face and wrist injuries.”
They were taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
