Teen beauty spot drinkers are ramblers, not rebels

From sunscreen to umbrellas in a day
Tuesday 28th June 2011, 11:45AM BST.
Sun-seekers in Shropshire were forced to ditch the sun cream and grab an umbrella as the hottest day of the year in the county gave way to heavy rain and flash flooding in areas.
Both man and beast were forced to seek water as the mercury tipped 26C (79F) in the county yesterday.
But it quickly turned – and residents in one Telford street were left unable to get on or off their drives after heavy rain turned their street into a river
The flash flood happened in Walker Crescent in St Georges last night, but the water had drained away by this morning.
Resident Gaynor Merrington said: “This wasn’t one of the bad years. When the cars go through it goes into the top of my garage because of the waves.
“It happens every time we have a storm it’s always the same. All the water runs down from the top into the crescent. One year it is going to come into our homes.”
The weather was expected to be dry but slightly cooler in Shropshire today – but forecasters say other parts of the country are bracing themselves for more flash floods, heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The Environment Agency and Met Office have warned of localised flooding in London, the South East and eastern England, saying up to 40mm (1.5ins) of rain could fall in the space of a few hours.
Hail storms are also expected.
Meanwhile, police have warned people not to be tempted to take a cooling swim in open water.
The warning follows several reports received during the heatwave from concerned members of the public who had spotted people in waterways.
Spokesman Richard Ewels said police had been called following reports of several people bathing in the River Severn in Shrewsbury, just off Coton Hill, on Saturday night.
